Harvest Season in Our Garden/How We Use It
- This leaf vegetable has several harvest times starting in May and ending in October.
- The lettuce is usually given to the various dining halls to be incorperated into meals! However if the dining halls are unable to use the lettuce it will be given to Amherst Survival Center to be used in one of their meals!
These plants are paired together because they share space well - one is a big plant with deep roots and one is a small plant with shallow roots, preventing competition between the plants.
