Harvest Season in Our Garden

• Rice will be ready to be harvested in September.

How We Use It

• Our patch of rice is relatively small, meaning that our yeild is often not large enough to justify cooking the rice. Instead we opt to give away the rice for seeding (seed sharing).

Why Do We Grown Rice?

• We decided to grow rice in the garden because this bed was far too wet to be conductive to vegatable growth. Rather than fighting with nature, we worked with it and planted marshy plants such as the rice which thrive in the naturally wet conditions of this bed.
